Kimi K3.1 Pro scores 55 on Artificial Analysis index

- Our desk filed its story
Artificial Analysis on Thursday published independent scores for Kimi K3.1 Pro, a proprietary reasoning model from Kimi released Oct. 23, 2026, giving it 55 on the lab's Intelligence Index and ranking it fourth of 215 models on that composite1.
The lab said the score is well above the median of 27 among models in a similar price tier and that Kimi K3.1 Pro is among leading models in intelligence while remaining reasonably priced versus peers, including a place on the Intelligence Index versus cost-per-task Pareto line1.
Listed API prices are $2.00 per 1 million input tokens and $10.00 per 1 million output tokens, with a 90% cache discount1. Artificial Analysis put average cost per Intelligence Index task at $2.11 and a blended rate at $1.54 per 1 million tokens under a 7:2:1 cache-hit/input/output mix1.
On speed, the page reports 73.5 output tokens per second from Kimi's API, slower than a comparable median of about 81 tokens per second, and time to first token of 3.20 seconds, better than a median of 3.62 seconds1. When run on the Intelligence Index, the model generated 150 million output tokens, versus a median of 87 million, which the lab called very verbose1.
Technical notes on the page say Kimi K3.1 Pro is a reasoning model, accepts text and image input, outputs text, has a 1 million-token context window, about 2.8 trillion parameters, and is not open weights1. The Intelligence Index version cited is v4.3.2, combining 10 evaluations including AA-Briefcase, GDPval-AA, Terminal-Bench 4.0, SciCode, Humanity's Last Exam and others1.
The same page says the model is available via API through one provider and that some charts note no publicly available API in a comparison widget; those two statements were not reconciled here1. Independent news coverage and a statement from Kimi were not in the assignment1.
