Anthropic made a U.S. initial public offering filing public on Monday, according to a Reuters report carried by CNA, presenting plans to list the company behind the Claude models while describing the capital needed to train and run them1.

CNA said the prospectus is expected to serve as a pricing reference for other large AI companies, including OpenAI, and that Anthropic is moving ahead even as other planned listings have been delayed amid market swings1.

Some current and prospective investors now put Anthropic at about $1.5 trillion, down from about $2 trillion a week earlier after the company shared financial details at an investor event, the report said1.

The company was valued at $965 billion in a May funding round, CNA reported, and named Amazon and Google as early strategic backers that also supply cloud capacity1.

The same report said Anthropic research has found risky behaviors in controlled tests of advanced systems, and that chief executive Dario Amodei has urged slower releases of new capabilities even as the company shipped Opus 5.5 after OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra1.

OpenAI filed confidentially for an IPO in June and is expected to list by early 2027, CNA said, citing Sam Altman as saying the company would not go public this year over safety concerns1.

The report placed Anthropic’s listing after SpaceX’s June offering, which it said priced at $75 billion and valued that company at $1.75 trillion1.
