Meta acquires Conductor, an AI coding-agent orchestration startup
TechCrunch and Techmeme, citing Axios, report Meta has acquired Conductor, whose team will join Meta Superintelligence Labs, as the product begins a wind-down.

- Our desk filed its story
Meta has acquired Conductor, a 2024 startup whose product lets software engineers run multiple AI coding agents on a project at once, TechCrunch reported Wednesday, after Axios first published the news1,2.
Meta confirmed the deal to TechCrunch but would not discuss terms or other details1.
Conductor’s founder and CEO, Charlie Holtz, wrote that the company is joining Meta and that it has “big, crazy plans for the next interface,” teasing something new for customers early next year1.
On X, Holtz said he looks forward to working with Meta chief AI officer Alexandr Wang and Nat Friedman, head of product at Superintelligence Labs, and that the team will join that group, according to TechCrunch and Techmeme’s Axios roundup1,2.
The product, launched last summer, can run agent teams in the cloud, locally or on a phone; the agents come from labs such as Anthropic and OpenAI rather than from Conductor itself1.
Holtz said core features will keep working until early next year except for Conductor’s cloud service, which will shut down Nov. 20, after which the company will begin deleting user cloud data1.
TechCrunch noted Meta has also launched Muse Code, reported strong Muse-agent adoption, and made other AI acquisitions this year, including Moltbook1.
Financial terms remain undisclosed1,2.
