The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office in Arizona issued an Integrated Public Alert and Warning System shelter emergency message on Sunday for flooding in the Lake Montezuma area1.
The IPAWS record listed Extreme severity, Immediate urgency and Observed certainty, sent at 10:45 a.m. MST on Nov. 1 and set to expire at 9:45 a.m. MST on Nov. 21.
The sheriff's message, dated 11-01-26, said flooding was occurring at the Lake Montazuma area and listed a SET order for units YCU-1763, YCU 1772 and YCU-17661.
It told people to shelter in place or seek high ground if able, and if they could reach high ground to take food, water and medication for about 6-8 hours1.
The alert did not describe water levels, road closures or injuries, and independent reporting matching this SET was not in the desk record1.
