Samsung prices Galaxy Buds On clip-on earbuds at $229 for U.S. launch
Engadget reports Samsung's first clip-on open-ear Galaxy Buds On go on sale in early November 2026 for $229; Techmeme's Bloomberg item puts shipping at Nov. 6.
- New headline Was: “Samsung prices Galaxy Buds On clip-on earbuds at $229”
- Our desk updated its story
Samsung is selling Galaxy Buds On, its first clip-on open-ear wireless earbuds, in the United States for $229 starting in early November 2026, Engadget reported1.
Techmeme's summary of a Bloomberg report by Chris Welch also lists the $229 price and says the buds ship Nov. 62.
Engadget said the clip is meant to hold the buds in place while leaving the ear canal unsealed, a category where Sony, Bose and Sennheiser already sell open-ear models1. Techmeme described the shape as an open-fit C-shaped cuff aimed at Sony and Bose2.
Samsung does not claim high-level noise cancellation on the model, Engadget said, unlike Galaxy Buds 4 Pro1. The company instead markets Audio Leakage Reduction, which it says uses reversed sound waves at the rear of each bud, and says fit work used more than 119 million ear scans, with IP54 water resistance1.
A new Class-D amplifier is meant to balance power use and volume, Engadget reported, with about 9.5 hours of music playback and 38 hours including the case1.
Each bud has three microphones and a voice pickup unit that detects speech vibrations, Engadget said, plus head-gesture controls to accept or decline calls1. On Galaxy phones, Engadget listed Gemini Live, Quick Voice Memo and auto-connect when the case opens1.
Techmeme said the design was produced with AI help2. Engadget did not give a calendar ship date beyond early November1. Independent reviews of sound quality and leakage were not in either report.
