Discord said Tuesday that conversations in its most public communities will soon be easier to find on the open web, with every Discoverable Server getting a public Server Web Page starting Nov. 16, 2026, and some messages from public channels appearing on those pages and in web search from mid-December1.
Discoverable Servers are Discord's most public spaces: they need at least 1,000 members, must be at least eight weeks old, must meet activity and safety rules, and can be joined without an invite1. Discord said there are more than 63,000 such servers1. The company said the changes do not apply to private servers, direct messages or group DMs1.
Server Web Pages already exist for some Discoverable Servers1. Discord said that from Nov. 16 every Discoverable Server will have one, using Server Profile details by default if admins do not set a page up first1. Admins who do not want a public page can switch the server back to a Community Server, which still requires an invite1.
From Nov. 16, pages may also show automated Channel Summaries of active conversations in public channels, without usernames or avatars1. Admins can choose which channels feed those summaries, curate them or turn them off1.
From mid-December 2026, Discord said some messages from public channels may appear on Server Web Pages and in web search, in the sender's words, still without usernames or avatars1. The company said the rollout is gradual and may take weeks before the first messages appear1. Messages sent before mid-December will not be shown1. Channels where content may appear on the web will be labeled1.
Admin controls began rolling out Tuesday in Server Settings under Web Presence, Discord said1. Admins can pick which channels take part or opt all channels out1. If they change nothing, public channels stay included, the Server Web Page goes live Nov. 16 if it is not already published, summaries can start that day, and Channel Messages start rolling out in mid-December1.
Members can turn off showing their own messages starting Tuesday in User Settings under Data and Privacy, with one setting covering Channel Messages in every Discoverable Server1. Discord said Channel Summaries are generated separately from broader channel topics and will still appear unless admins turn them off1. Turning the member setting off later stops new messages from appearing; messages sent while it was on stay up unless deleted from Discord1.
Discord said the member setting is off by default in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, Brazil, Australia and South Korea because of legal restrictions, so messages there will not appear unless users turn it on1. Users in the teen age group are excluded and cannot enable Channel Messages until they are adults1. Elsewhere, Discord said the setting is on unless members turn it off1.
The company said it has been piloting Channel Messages with some game communities, including NBA 2K, Rust and Dead by Daylight, and that during the pilot all posts were from admins and moderators, not members1.
