Al-Monitor published a Reuters dispatch saying Saudi Arabia's civil defence on Sunday lifted alerts in several parts of the Eastern Province, including Dhahran, shortly after a warning of possible danger1.

That dispatch said the all-clear also covered Dammam, Abqaiq and Al-Ahsa governorate, according to civil defence, and noted Dhahran as the site of Saudi Aramco's headquarters1.

Al-Monitor's Reuters copy said the Eastern Province holds most of the kingdom's oil and gas reserves and that Aramco's headquarters was heavily damaged in an attack in October1.

The same copy said that after the all-clear, the Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen said it had intercepted a ballistic missile fired by Yemen's Houthi movement toward the eastern region1. Independent confirmation of the intercept, and of why the alerts were issued, was not in the material reviewed1.
