Cursor says Agent SDK is generally available for code-defined agents

Cursor’s blog dated Oct. 20 says the Agent SDK it uses for managed agents such as Bugbot is generally available, with deploy to Cursor infrastructure or a self-hosted Node process.

Cursor’s product blog, dated Oct. 20 and bylined Rustam Lalkaka, says the company is releasing the Agent SDK, the framework it uses to build managed agents including Bugbot, Security Reviewer, and Rollouts1.

The post says the SDK is meant for software teams that want agents defined as code, connected to existing tools, and triggered by events such as pull requests, compliance workflows, or incident investigations1.

Cursor said developers can start from a template or point a coding agent at its docs, then run agent-sdk deploy to build the agent, assign it a URL, and start it on Cursor infrastructure1. The company also said each agent can run as a single Node process that can be packaged in a container on a customer’s own systems1.

In the company’s description, prompts live in Markdown and tools are TypeScript functions, so changes can go through the same version control and review process as other software1. Cursor said the SDK includes evals and event replay1.

As an internal example, Cursor said a team built kb-reviewer in about a day to check pull requests against a knowledge base of past lessons1. The post also quoted PGA America principal engineer Michael Gyarmathy saying the SDK let PGA build its software factory on Cursor infrastructure1.

The company said the Agent SDK is generally available and pointed readers to its documentation1.
