Apple says 100,000 App Store titles are now built for iPhone Duo
Apple said Friday more than 100,000 App Store apps are built for iPhone Duo, with thousands more added daily, according to TechCrunch.

Apple said Friday that more than 100,000 App Store apps are built for iPhone Duo and that thousands more are being added each day, according to TechCrunch1.
The company timed the count with more than a dozen newly named Duo-ready apps, including Microsoft Word and Outlook, Zoom, NBA and NHL sports apps, Etsy, LTK, Goodnotes, Extra and the Halide Mark III camera app, TechCrunch reported1. Those join titles already optimized for the foldable, including Netflix, YouTube, Instagram and WhatsApp, the outlet said1.
TechCrunch said apps that are not Duo-optimized can leave a black bar along the side of the screen and sometimes hide functions in an overflow menu1. Early reviews had criticized the lack of Duo-specific apps at launch, the report said1.
Apple said more than 2,000 developers attended more than 50 in-person workshops in 19 cities, where they could use the Duo and work on apps with Apple support, according to TechCrunch1.
Susan Prescott, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, said in a statement, "It's been wonderful to see how quickly developers have embraced iPhone Duo"1. TechCrunch listed many other apps Apple said were updated for iOS 27 and Duo, including Spotify, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, ChatGPT and others, but said not all of those updates had fully rolled out1. On a review Duo, Spotify still showed the black bar and the App Store did not yet list an update, the outlet said1.
The report also noted Duo demand: the phone starts at $1,999 for a 256GB model, sold out within hours of orders opening, and ship times have moved into next year1. On an earnings call this week, Apple said it was hard to predict when those constraints would ease, TechCrunch reported1.
