SpaceX launches 27 Starlink satellites from California

Space.com reported that SpaceX lofted 27 Starlink satellites on a Falcon 9 from Vandenberg Space Force Base at 12:04 a.m. EDT on Oct. 31.

SpaceX launched 27 Starlink internet satellites from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California at 12:04 a.m. EDT on Oct. 31, Space.com reported1.

The Falcon 9 first stage landed about 8.5 minutes after liftoff on the company's drone ship Of Course I Still Love You in the Pacific Ocean, according to the report1. Space.com identified the booster as B1093 on its 18th flight1.

The upper stage deployed the 27 satellites into low Earth orbit about 62 minutes after launch, Space.com said1. The outlet said they join more than 11,000 spacecraft already in the Starlink network1.

The flight was the 118th Falcon 9 launch of 2026 so far, and more than 70% of those missions have been devoted to Starlink, according to Space.com1. The report said SpaceX has also flown Falcon Heavy and Starship three times apiece this year, with another Starship test expected in November1.
