Salesforce said it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Rune Technologies, which it described as building logistics and sustainment software for the U.S. military and allied nations.

TechCrunch, citing Resilience Media, reported the price as $375 million in cash and stock1. Salesforce’s announcement did not state a price.

Salesforce said Rune’s tools help frontline teams forecast supply needs and operate in environments with little or no connectivity, and that the purchase would add those capabilities to Missionforce.

One year after Missionforce launched, Salesforce said its defense business is growing 80% year over year and cited a 10-year U.S. Army contract with a $5.6 billion ceiling. TechCrunch summarized that Army figure as a $5.6 billion contract without calling it a ceiling1.

Salesforce said the transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2027, subject to customary closing conditions.

Rune was founded in 2024 and has raised $30 million from investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Point72 Ventures and IQT, TechCrunch reported1. The startup was last valued at $127 million on a Series A, TechCrunch said, citing PitchBook1.

Salesforce this year also agreed to buy Fin, formerly Intercom, for $3.6 billion, bought Qualified for $1.2 billion, and agreed to buy Listen Labs, TechCrunch reported1.
